Hundreds of divers and snorkelers took part in the event. Hundreds of divers and snorkelers have listened to an underwater concert that advocated coral reef protection in the Florida Keys.

The Lower Keys Underwater Music Festival, which also spotlighted eco-conscious diving, took place at Looe Key Reef, an area of the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary located about six miles south of Big Pine Key.

Established in 1990, the sanctuary protects 3,800 square miles of waters including the barrier reef that parallels the 125-mile-long island chain.

Participants swam among Looe Key’s colourful marine life and coral formations while listening to water-themed music broadcast by a local radio station.

The music was piped undersea through waterproof speakers suspended beneath boats above the reef.

The oceanic playlist included the Beatles’ Yellow Submarine, Jimmy Buffett’s Fins and the theme from The Little Mermaid.

Tunes were interspersed with diver awareness messages about ways to minimise environmental impacts on the world’s coral reefs, whose rich biodiversity has led them to be called the rainforests of the sea.

While the festival’s primary purpose was to encourage reef preservation, it also afforded a singular underwater experience.

“Mermaids” and other costumed characters added unique visual elements to the auditory offering on part of the continental United States’ only living coral barrier reef.

The four-hour musical event was staged by local radio station 104.1 FM and the Lower Keys Chamber of Commerce.

Madonna was allegedly found unresponsive on Saturday, June 24, and had to be “brought back from the dead” by medical personnel.

According to reports by Radar, the “Like a Virgin” singer was given a NARCAN injection to resuscitate her. NARCAN — also known as naxalone — is sometimes administered in emergency situations in order to treat a narcotics overdose.

However, there is currently no evidence that the Queen of Pop was given Narcan in relation to any type of drug abuse.

Aside from overdose, the life-saving medication can also be used to reverse acute septic shock, which occurs when an infection is so severe that the patient’s immune system can begin to inadvertently damage the body through its extreme responses to the infection.

This potential explanation appears to line up with a recent social media post made by Madonna’s manager, Guy Oseary, updating fans on the Grammy Award winner’s health.

“On Saturday, June 24, Madonna developed a serious bacterial infection which lead to a several day stay in the ICU,” Guy wrote at the time. “Her health is improving, however she is still under medical care. A full recovery is expected.”

He added that Madonna “will need to pause all commitments” until she’s properly recovered, including postponing her highly anticipated world tour, which was set to begin on Saturday, July 15.

At that time, sources also revealed the 66-year-old had reportedly been “vomiting uncontrollably” from her hospital bed, because she was too sick to get up and go to the bathroom.

Another source said Madonna had been suffering a fever for longer than a month, but continued to rehearse relentlessly for her tour.

Madonna, the iconic pop sensation, was set to embark on her highly anticipated world tour in just 10 days. However, she is now facing uncertainty about whether to start her Celebration tour. Recent health updates about the songstress’ recovery from a severe bacterial infection suggest a challenging road ahead.

According to a source cited by TMZ on Wednesday, July 5th, 2023, the Vogue hitmaker has been feeling “weak and very tired” as she spends most of her time in bed fighting a severe bacterial infection.

Previously, the singer’s pal, comedian Rosie O’Donnell told fans via Instagram that the Queen of Pop, 64, is “good” and “recovering at home.”

She told one fan that Madonna is “very strong.”

Late week, the singer’s longtime manager and producer Guy Oseary revealed that the singer had been hospitalised due to a “serious bacterial infection” amid rehearsals for her upcoming Celebration Tour, but is now recovering.

However, according to a music source cited by People Magazine, Madonna “ignored some symptoms of illness for quite a while because she thought they would go away”.

The source explained, “She didn’t want to take time away from rehearsals. She was rundown and not feeling 100 percent for a while in anticipation of her tour. She is relentless in her quest to be the best, to wow her fans and to do what others before her have not done.”

Another sourced added, “Madonna has been very busy for a long time and not taking care of herself. She just continues to push herself beyond the limit.”

Madonna was set to kick off her tour in Vancouver on July 15, commemorating the 40-year anniversary of her career. “I am excited to explore as many songs as possible in hopes to give my fans the show they have been waiting for,” she said back in January while announcing her tour.

However, in the light of her medical condition, Oseary announced that “all commitments” of the singer are “paused.”

Taylor Hawkins’ son Shane once again honoured his late father as Foo Fighters embark on their summer tour.

On Friday, the 17-year-old joined the band onstage to perform their 1995 hit I’ll Stick Around during the band’s headlining performance at the Boston Calling music festival.

Midway through the 20-song set, Foo Fighters welcomed Violet Grohl to sit in on “Shame Shame”, which included a snippet of Van Halen’s “Ain’t Talkin’ ‘Bout Love”, and “Rope”. Dave Grohl then dedicated a heartfelt solo rendition of “Cold Day in the Sun” to Taylor’s family and Taylor before introducing Shane Hawkins. The young Hawkins sat in on drums during “I’ll Stick Around”.

“He just said, ‘Say something. I gotta fix the snare,’” Grohl said laughingly as the young Hawkins took the stage. After stalling for a minute, Grohl introduced the song, saying, “This is an old song from our first record.” He was unable to finish the introduction, though, as he was cut off by the eager drummer, who launched into the song with intense energy reminiscent of his father’s playing.

This was not the first time Shane has sat in with the Foo Fighters. He previously played “My Hero” with the band at the Taylor Hawkins Tribute Concerts.
