A businessman was injured as a gang of muggers knifed him on his way home at Jattrabari in the Dhaka city early Tuesday and stanched Tk 1.3 lakh and two mobile sets.
The victims, Idris Ali, 48, an import and export trader, was from Sutir Khal of the area
Idris was returning to home at about 3:30am after visiting his nephew, who is undergoing treatment in the city’s Apollo Hospital at Baridhara, said the victim’s younger brother, Moynal Ali, adding that a 3-4 muggers obstructed him when he reached in front of Dhalpur Community Centre.
The muggers asked him to hand over everything he had, which Idris refused to do and at one stage the muggers stabbed him in the back, hands and shoulder.
The muggers snatched Tk 1.3 lakh in cash and two mobile sets and ran away.
Idris was admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
