This year’s Secondary School Certificate and equivalent examinations are scheduled to start on June 19 and Higher Secondary Certificate and equivalent examinations are scheduled to start on August 22.
In two urgent releases the Dhaka Education Board published these ‘probable’ dates in its website. The releases were published on Monday.
One if the urgent releases said that the probable date of starting filling up of forms by the SSC candidates was fixed at April 13. The process of filling up forms will be completed by online. The probable date for starting preparatory examinations of SSC candidates has been fixed at May 19.
Another release said that the probable date of starting filling up of forms by the HSC candidates was fixed at June 8. The process of filling up forms will be completed by online. The probable date for starting preparatory examinations of HSC candidates has been fixed at July 14.
Both of the examinations will be held on short syllabuses and in two hours. In 2020, the SSC, Junior School Certificate and equivalent examinations were held normally.
But the HSC and equivalent examinees were given grade points using the subject mapping method based on their results in the SSC, JSC and equivalent examinations following the outbreak of Covid-19 in Bangladesh in March.
The classroom activities in all educational institutions across Bangladesh remained suspended from March 18, 2020 till September 11, 2021 due to the Covid-19 situation. In November 2021, SSC exams were held and with a gap of one year and in December 2021, HSC exams were held. Following outbreak of Covid-19 variant omicron, Between January 21 and February 21 classroom activities were closed in all educational institutions in the country this year.
