Science museum distributes telescopes

National Museum of Science and Technology director general Mohammad Munir Chowdhury handed over telescopes to three educational institutes and a science institute on Thursday.
With the help of these 70mm x 420mm Chinese telescopes, the students will be able to observe the moon and other objects in the cosmos, said a press release.
On the day, a scientific lecture was organised under the title ‘Prevention of Waste of Water’. Students and teachers of Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Government Girls’ High School, Twinkle Kid’s Grammar School, Milestone School and College participated in it.
Director general Mohammad Munir Chowdhury said that preventing wastage of water is also a teaching in Islam. Teaching of Ramadan should be utilised to stop wastage of water and wastage of food.
Speaking on the occasion, Munir Hasan, president of Science Popularising Association, said, ‘Telescope contributed much to scientific advancement. We have to apply science to unravel the mysteries of the universe.’
