Robi Axiatia Limited, the official sponsor of the Bangladesh cricket team, organise a jersey designing competition for the national cricket team that will
start today. The half-month-long contest titled “Odommo Jersey Design Contest” will conclude on August 31. Mahtab Uddin Ahmed, chief operating officer of Robi, revealed it at a press conference at media center of Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium yesterday.
Faridur Reza Sagar, managing director of Channel-i, Kazi Inam Ahmed, chairman of BCB marketing and commercial committee and Nizam Uddin Chowdhury Shujan, CEO of BCB, were also present.
Robi, country’s leading mobile phone operators, in partnership with the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) will conduct a campus-based activity, where students of fine arts and fashion institutes alongside other professional and amateur people across the country will get opportunity to submit their designed jersey within the timeframe. Thereafter, a brief list of the probable competitors will be found out by a panel of judges, who will be included from BCB officials, former cricketers, renowned artists, fashion designers and fashion icons.
Judges will select a total of 11-designed jersey and Robi will air the commercials of selected 11-jersey. Since then, they will ask for votes from the general people to select their choiceable jersey for the team. Interested people could vote through SMS and online.
Top five-designed jerseys will be sorted out finally by votes and the result will be announced at grand final. The final will be held on October after the Eid vacation. Winner will be awarded with Tk five lakh alongside telecom prize.
