]]>The first-of-its-kind project “Nodi Rocks” by Salt Creatives to protect Bangladesh’s rivers has won the Bangladesh Brand Forum Award in the Social and Native categories. On August 13, the award presentation ceremony took place in a five-star hotel.
The main goal of this exciting project was to use music as a powerful tool to promote riverine beauty, and raise awareness about climate change among the youth. Seven popular bands of the country are associated with this project. The CEO and creative director of Salt Creatives, Chirkutt’s Sharmin Sultana Sumi, is delighted with the achievement.
“Nodi Rocks is our journey to revive the dying rivers with the power of music, and spread this message to the youth”, she said. “Our main focus is to make the youth fall in love again with the riverine beauty of our country and to take care of the rivers. Because they are the ultimate future of the country.” “We dedicate this achievement to our energetic youth of today, with the slogan ‘Jolbayu Bachate Cholo Nodir Kachey Jai,” she added. Sumi also thanked the authorities of Bangladesh Brand Forum and the jury for giving special recognition to their initiative.
In the first season of “Nodi Rocks”, seven popular bands of the country composed seven songs about seven important rivers of the country: Padma, Kushiyara, Sangu, Chitra, Pashur, Dahuk and Buriganga. The songs are available on the official YouTube channel of Nodi Rocks and their Facebook page. They are also available on the app “Nodi Rocks”. The initiative is also supported by the Swiss Embassy and the Manusher Jonno Foundation.
