Grandmaster Ziaur Rahman finished 44th position in the 15th Dubai Open Chess Championship held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates on Monday evening.
Zia earned 5.5 points out of nine matches while Russian GM Rakhmanov
Aleksandr emerged champion with 7.5 points in the event.In the 9th round matches, Zia lost to GM Pantsulaia Levan of Georgia.
A total of 196 players from 34 countries, including 38 grandmasters, took part in the event.

Bangladesh Grandmaster Ziaur Rahman beat Indian GM Anurag in the 8th round match of the 15th Dubai Open Chess Championship in Dubai on Sunday night.
With this win, Zia earned 5.5 points from eight matches.
Zia was scheduled to play Georgian GM Pantsulaia Levan in the 9th and last round match on Monday night.
A total of 194 players, including 38 Grandmasters, six Women Grandmasters, 26 International Masters and six Women International Masters, are participating in the Asia’s biggest chess meet.
