Bangladesh Television is going to air Jatrapala after a two-year hiatus, said a press release.
Popular actress Aruna Biswas is going to anchor the programme, which will be aired every Thursday at 2:30pm.
Today, the BTV will air Banglar Bani Opera’s production titled Kajalrekha at 2:30pm.
Besides, the BTV will gradually telecast jatrapala productions of Pratima Opera, Diamond Opera, Shitalakshya Jatra Unit, Swadesh Opera, The Challenge Opera and New Sabuj Opera, among others.
Before the Covid-19 crisis hit Bangladesh in March 2020, the BTV used to air jatrapala once a month. No jatrapala productions were shot in the BTV studio in the past two years. Jagadish Chandra Esh, programme and planning department
director of the state-run television channel, said, ‘The BTV is one of the few platforms that still promotes and patronises local and folk culture. We can learn a lot of things from our heritage and culture. We have to nurture our roots in order to build a secular country.’

National poet Kazi Nazrul Islam’s memories from his time as a student will be featured in the upcoming edition of Ityadi, a popular television magazine program from the 1990s.
The episode was filmed in front of the National Poet’s classroom at Darirampur School in Trishal, Mymensingh, as a tribute. The filming of the episode took place on July 17.

The local Trishal villagers claim that this is the first occasion on which a crowd has come to watch the filming of any program. People continued cheering while watching the show’s production because they were so enthused.
One of Nazrul’s well-known songs was performed by two of the most renowned vocalists of our time, Bappa Mazumder and Priyanka Gope. Nazrul singers also shared the stage and participated in the show. Both poetry recitals and dance performances were presented.
Ityadi has consistently strived to enlighten its audience by giving more information about Bangladesh. It has traveled to remote areas in search of picturesque locales or in quest of the traditional and historical elements of our nation.
Like the old Ityadi episodes, the most recent one also featured a lot of inspiring, instructive, and educational tales.
It will be broadcast concurrently on BTV and BTV world on Friday, July 29 after the Bengali news of 8:00pm. Hanif Sanket has scripted, directed and hosted the show.

]]>The Rapid Action Battalion detained two staff of Shahidul’s office – Raihan, 20, also known as Rohan, and Litu Anam, 19, also known as Liton, – and Aslam Uddin, 19, Aman Ullah, 19, from Shalgharia in Pabna at about 3:00am, the battalion said.
Based on their statements, the battalion detained Mahbuba Akter Trisha, 18, Abir Hossain Badhan, 18, Tofazzal Hossain, 23, from Mohammadpur and Adabor areas in the capital, it said.
The battalion claimed that Raihan and Litu had masterminded the killing following professional conflict and the others helped them in the killing.
The battalion handed the detainees over to Uttara west police station.
Sahidul ran his business house, Media Vision, from three rented rooms in a building which also houses a school.
