Tri-Nation Big Show, a colourful cultural event last night, fostered the excitement of ICC World Cup among Bangladeshi cricket fans. Famous artistes, actors, actress and films super stars of Bangladesh, India and Sri Lanka dazzled the eyes of thousands of spectators, attended the event.
ATN Events, a sister concern of satellite television channel ATN Bangla, hosted the cultural event to make the memorable ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 that began here on February 19.
Indian super star Salman Khan, Katrina Kaif and Akshay Kumar participated in the mega cultural festival besides leading performers from the World Cup’s co-host countries.
The three Indian film super stars arrived yesterday morning by a special aircraft while another group of 150 Indian performers with Riya Sen, Anushka Sharma, and Pritom and his band “Metro” had arrived in the Wednesday morning.
Two band groups of Sri Lanka also participated in the show. The concert was began with Bangladeshi vocalists who had rendered patriotic and folk songs. Kiron Chandra Roy, Farida Parvin and Chandana Majumder presented folk songs while Dancing pairs Shibli-Nipa, Sohel-Ria and Likhon-Nadia staged some popular dances. Shakib Khan, Tinni, Shokh, Meem and Bindu also danced with several popular songs.
Private Satellite Channels ATN Bangla and Baishakhi TV telecasted the program live from the stadium as media partners while Destiny group was the title sponsor of this event.
The artistses from Bangladesh are. Singers Kiran Chandra Ray, Farida Parvin, Chandana Majumder and Bari Siddiqi will perform folk songs. Dancing pairs Shibli-Nipa, Sohel-Ria and Likhon-Nadia will also present their dances.
The show, however, added an extra dimension of pleasure for the cricket fans while the World Cup is going on in full swing. The programme mainly focused on the traditional culture and heritage of the three organising countries.
Regarding the event, Managing Director of ATN Events Koushik Hossain Tapash said they are playing a key role to make the World Cup a success by raising fund for the BCB through the program. He appreciated BCB for extending their co-operation and said they would hand over Tk 7 crore to BCB after the program.
