Bandura Holy Cross High School won the Cute Inter-School handball tournament by overcoming Narinda Govt High School by 25-18 goals in the final of the male category while Viqarunnisa Noon School & College outclassed Saint Upregis School & College 11-0 to clinch the females’ title on May 16.
Bandura’s Leon alone scored 11 goals in their victory over the Narinda boys and his superb performance earned him the man of the match accolade.
Meanwhile, in the girls’ section, Viqarunnisa’s Saba was adjudged the player of the final for her four goals in a one-sided contest.
The prize giving ceremony of the competition was held at the Bandura Holy Cross High
School ground on May 18 where the headmaster of the school, Brother
Nipu Heubert Rozario, was the chief guest and distributed prizes among the winners.

Men’s and women’s team from Bangladesh emerged champions in the International Friendship Handball Tournament that concluded at Haldia in the State of West Bengal, India yesterday.
Bangladesh Men’s A team beat their Indian counterparts in the last match by 31-26 points to emerge champions and the Women’s A team followed suit. Imdadul of the men’s team and Sahida Khatun of the women’s team were adjudged best players of the tournament in their respective events.

Both men’s and women’s handball team of Bangladesh got off to winning start on the opening day of International Friendship Handball Tournament in Haldia in West Bengal state of India yesterday, said a press release from Bangladesh Handball Federation.
Men’s team handed a 31-24 defeat to their Nepalese counterparts after leading the first half 13-7. Didar and Kamel struck five goals each for Bangladesh.
In the women’s section, Bangladesh defeated their Indian counterparts 19-8 after dominating the first half 8-4 as Sahida scored six goals and Bhulu and Tripti netted four goals each.
