The jam packed crowd was rocked by the electrifying performance of the leading band LRB on Saturday on the Indira Gandhi Cultural Center premises at Dhanmondi.
One of the leading bands of the country Country’s one of the famous bands LRB rocked the audience in its distinctive style by presenting an array of its original songs. They also grooved the crowd with cover numbers.
LRB began with the popular soft rock number Ghumonto shohorey. The concert, however, reached its pick when Ayub Bachchu started presenting the alternative rock number Ural dibo akashey and the crowd, mostly the youth, sang, danced and cheered with the song. With its unique music style LRB continued to move the audience playing one after another popular numbers such as Haste dekho, Pherari ei monta, Sei tumi, Dorjar o pashey and Duti mon kadey sharakhon.
Bachchu’s solo guitar recital while presenting Mon chailey mon pabe was a nice entertainer for the audience. He captivated the audience while rendering the evergreen song Tumi ki amar bondhu, originally rendered by RD Burman. Ecstasy of audience increased when the band covered, Smoke on the water, a popular number by the British band Deep Purple.
Bachchu once again set the stage on fire through his maestro on guitar. The audience was enthralled by his guitar skills and gimmick during the concert which turned the evening a memorable one for the audience.
Young spectators went crazy at the presentation of Bachelor. AB’s improvisation skill while presenting songs made the concert even livelier.
The show wrapped up with Bangladesh. AB twisted the song playing the tune of a patriotic Hindi song Bande mataram simultaneously to commemorate the friendship of two neighboring countries between Bangladesh and India in the concert organised by Indira Gandhi Cultural Centre.
It was a wonderful concert and will be remembered by everyone for many days, observed many audiences at the programme. Rafat, a student, told the New Age, ‘I wish duration of the concert was a little longer because when LRB is on stage time just flies in fraction of moment.’

Popular Bangladeshi bands — Warfaze, Aurthohin, LRB and Miles — played to a huge crowd at the Rajshahi District Stadium on March 18.
The event, ‘Banglalink Music Fest 2011’, was an initiative to popularise and promote local culture and heritage.
Ayub Bachchu of LRB, Shafin Ahmed and Hamin Ahmed of Miles, along with Warfaze, Aurthohin and a local band of Rajshahi entertained hundreds of people at the five-and-a-half hour concert.
Mobile phone operator Banglalink organised the concert to support the dynamic and diverse musical traditions of Bangladesh.
The viewers began queuing up from noon onwards at the stadium, picking up tickets. Their patience was finally rewarded when Rajshahi’s local band Salvation took the stage at 3pm.
Sumon of Aurthohin took the stage with “Gaibo Na Aar Kono Gaan Tomake Chhara” and performed some of their other favourite numbers.
Miles played several of their classics, while Warfaze’s Mizan rendered “Tomakey Mon-e Porey” and “Boshey Achhi Eka”.
Finally, Ayub Bachchu and LRB appeared on stage and performed the band’s popular songs like “Meye” and others. The concert ended at 9:30pm.
The Rajshahi event was part of a nationwide series of concerts, which Banglalink initiated in Khulna last December. The concert was held in Chittagong in January this year before it came to Rajshahi.
Banglalink officials said they would organise more such concerts across the country as part of their plan to make a difference through music.
