RFL Group recently organised a dealer conference in Dubai of the United Arab Emirates .

The top 70 dealers of three subsidiaries of the group – Rangpur Metal Industries Limited, Regal Furniture and Bizli Cables – took part in the conference at a hotel on August 18, according to a press release.

They visited different attractive places including the Burj Khalifa, Dubai Frame and Desert Safari.

Md Moniruzzaman, director of Rangpur Metal Industries Limited and Bizli Cables; Shafiul Alam Khan, chief operating officer of Regal Furniture; Shariful Islam, head of marketing of Rangpur Metal; Rakib Ahmed, head of marketing of Bizli Cables, and other senior officials were present at the conference.

Habiganj Agro Ltd and Sylvan Technologies Ltd, sister concerns of Pran-RFL Group, won National Productivity and Quality Excellence Award-2020 for enhancing productivity and manufacturing quality products.
On behalf of Habiganj Agro, Eleash Mridha, managing director of Pran Group, and Mostafizur Rahman, chief operating officer of Sylvan Technologies, received the award from Industries Minister Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun at Pan Pacific Sonargaon Dhaka in the capital on Sunday.
Habiganj Agro claimed second place in the food industry sector in the large industrial category and Sylvan Technologies clinched first prize under the steel and engineering sector in the medium industry category, a press release said.
“We are working to boost productivity and quality of our products. This recognition will inspire us to do more,” said Mridha.
Kamal Ahmed Mojumder, state minister for industries, Zakia Sultana, secretary of the ministry, and Md Jashim Uddin, president of the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry, were present.

Beverage brand Pran UP has launched a campaign titled ‘Pran Khola Hashi’ to distribute iftar among street children and helpless families during Ramadan.
Eleash Mridha, managing director at Pran Group, inaugurated the campaign through a programme held at Pran Centre at Badda on Sunday, said a press release.
Under the campaign, Pran UP will allocate a specific amount of money through collecting labels from the customers and distribute iftar to street children and their families from the allocated money.
On the occasion, Eleash Mridha said, ‘We usually share our joys with families, relatives and others. There are many helpless people in our society who have not the ability to do a good iftar and street children and their families are one of them.’
He also said, ‘On behalf of our beverage brand Pran Up, we have taken the initiative to share the iftar with them throughout the month of Ramadan.’
Anisur Rahman, executive director at Pran Beverage said, ‘We include the consumers so that they can encourage us through providing the labels of Pran UP at some retail chain shops including Daily Shopping, Tasty Treat, Mithai and RFL Best Buy. Pran UP will allocate a specific amount of money from each label and
distribute in Dhaka and divisional cities.’
Hasib Kamal, deputy general manager (marketing) at Pran Beverage Limited and Shoaib Hasnain, brand manager of Pran UP, were also present at the programme.

TEL Plastic, a brand of Pran-RFL Group, has created a fund for the development of the environment and announced that it would donate to it Tk 2 from the sale of each of its 80 types of plastic products.
The fund will be used to create awareness among people about environment conservation, prevention pollution and launch tree plantation campaigns, said the group.
Habibun Nahar, deputy minister for environment, forest and climate change, inaugurated “TEL Plastic Environmental Development Fund” yesterday.
She urged others to follow suit, saying environment conservation was at the top of the government’s priority list.
“RFL Group initiated plastic recycling since 2012. Currently we recycle 30,000 tonnes of plastic every year. Around 27,000 raw materials are produced from those,” said RN Paul, managing director of RFL Group.

Pran, an agro-processor of the country and a subsidiary of Pran-RFL Group, has set a target to procure 12,000 tonnes of tomatoes for manufacturing tomato-based products, including sauce and ketchup, for the season.
The conglomerate has started collecting and pulping tomatoes at Pran Agro Ltd factories in Natore and the Barind (Varendra) Industrial Park in Rajshahi at the end of January.
It will continue till the availability of the tomatoes, a press release said.
Pran is collecting those tomatoes from its contract farmers.
The company has around 10,500 contract farmers in Rajshahi, Chapainawabganj, Bogura, Pabna, Natore, Khulna, and some other districts across the country.
“Lots of tomatoes are cultivated in Rajshahi, Chapainawabganj, Pabna, Natore, and surrounding districts from where we have started collecting and pulping tomatoes in full swing like previous years,” said Sarowar Hossain, general manager of Barind Industrial Park.
Pran exports its sauce and ketchup to many countries, including India, Malaysia, the UAE, the USA, Italy and Sweden.
