Samia Sayeed, from Comilla, had been announced the winner of Lux-Channel-i Superstar Contest at the grand finale held on Friday at the Bangabandhu International Convention Centre.Prasun Azad, from Mymensingh, became the first runner up while Samiha Hossain Khan, from Pabna, became the second runner up of the Lux-Channel-i Superstar 2012.
Thousands of participants from across the country participated at the primary selection of the seventh edition of the beauty contest that began in April. The final contest of 20 contestants was held in Dhaka.
Small screen actors Tauqir Ahmed, Afsana Mimi and magician Jewel Aich were the judges of the final round who selected top five for the grand finale.
Media personalities Asaduzzaman Noor and Shykh Seraj were the special judges at the grand finale.
The evening began with a choreography presented by the 18 winners of the previous six contests. The top 20 contestants of this year’s contest also presented another choreography performance at the programme.
Subsequently the five competitors of the grand finale appeared onstage and displayed fashion walk. Musicians like Foad Naser Babu, Kazi Hablu, Fuad and Friends and others performed in the evening.
The main attraction of the grand finale was declaration of the names of this year’s winners.
KSM Minhaz, brand ambassador of Unilever Bangladesh, Faridur Reza Sagar, managing director of Impress Telefilm, and Asaduzzaman Noor MP handed over the prizes to the winners.
Lux-Channel-i Superstar Samia Sayeed won a brand new car. The first runner up Prasun Azad won taka five lakh while the second runner up Samiha Hossain Khan won taka three lakh.
Rest of the top 10 contestants won onetaka lakh each. Unilever Bangladesh, Asiatic Limited and Channel-i jointly organised the talent hunt programme.
