Early on Friday, a student from Khulna University of Engineering and Technology was killed when he was pinned between the train’s wheels at the Joypurhat Railway Station in the city’s district.

He was a 23-year-old third-year student in the Leather Engineering Department at the KUET and the son of Shahriar Rais from Kalipara, Shibganj upazila, Bogura.

According to Moktar Hossain, officer-in-charge of the Santahar Railway Police Station, the victim died instantly after falling off the train while attempting to exit quickly at around 4:00 a.m.

He stated that the fatal accident occurred while the victim was traveling from Khulna to Chilahati on the Simanta Express.
