Celebrated singer Nazmun Munira Nancy tied the knot with lyricist Mohsin Mehedi through a lavish wedding reception.The “Ek Prithibi Prem” singer shared her bridal and holud ceremony pictures in her verified Facebook account.
The couple got married amidst the presence of their loved ones. Nancy’s elder daughter Rodela was also present.
Nancy looked beautiful in a gorgeous, cream-coloured lehenga while her husband Mehedi complemented her in a marron coloured punjabi.
The singer arranged a small holud ceremony on their rooftop, where she wore a luminescent yellow lehenga while Mehedi wore a yellow punjabi.

Popular singer Nancy is going to release a one song album titled Maa with a music video featuring the artiste herself.Asif Iqbal has penned the lyrics for the song Maa, which has been composed and directed by Adit. Nancy is dedicating the album to her
mother who has passed away recently.
‘This is not a commercial album and I am not taking any royalty for it. This is my way of paying tribute to all the mothers of the world,’ Nancy told New Age.
The artiste has earlier modeled with Habib in a song titled Jharapata from her last album Rong.
Under the banner of Sangeeta, Nancy’s third solo album will be released next month.
Nancy is one of the most successful female solo singers in Bangladesh. She started her music career with the music director Habib Wahid in the song Hridoyer Katha. Subsequently, she released one after another hit numbers including Prithibir joto shukh, Hawai hawai dolna dole, Godhuli logon and Didha. Her first solo album ‘Bhalobasha Odhora’ was released in 2009 and her second album Rong was produced by Deadline Music in 2012. Renowned music directors like Habib Wahid, SI Tutul and others composed songs of the album.

Popular singer Nancy will present several mixed albums in the upcoming Eid. The princess of melody of the local music industry hopes that her fans will love these songs, which, she claims, will be additional treat during the Eid bonanza.Nancy has lent voice in a duet song titled ‘Bhalobasher swapno’ with Mamhmud Sunny which will be featured in a mixed album. In addition, she has recorded another duet with Topu in the mixed album titled Oporajita, initiated by famous lyricist and composer Prince Mahmud. Talking about the album she told New Age, ‘This is my first work with Prince Mahmud and I am really excited working with the talented composer.’
Another mixed album Kusumpurer Golpo is one of the most discussed albums of the Eid in which Nancy, Ferdous Wahid, Habib, Kona, Milon Mahmud, Sabina Yasmin and many more will be featured.
‘I am busy working in several mixed albums for Eid. I hope my fans will welcome the songs warmly since I gave my cent per cent effort in these endeavours ,’ Nancy told New Age. Explaining the reason behind not releasing any solo in the Eid, when the market turns to be very attractive one, Nancy said, ‘I released a solo album titled Rong in the Bangla New Year celebration in last April. So, I’m taking a break.

In a short time, Nancy has carved a niche in the music scene with her unique and melodious voice. She has constantly offered fresh tunes to listeners, allowing her to stand way ahead of many of her contemporaries. Nancy recorded the song, “Ami Tomar Moner Bhetor Ekbar Ghure Ashte Chai”, two years ago for a movie. Though the film is still in the post-production stage, the song has found its way into the hearts of the masses. Nancy won this year’s Meril Prothom Alo Award, besides releasing a new solo album two months ago. The busy singer recently talked to The Daily Star about her meteoric rise to fame and a wide range of subjects:Are you enjoying your newfound celebrity status?
Nancy: I didn’t realise when and how I became a popular singer. In the initial stage, I only used to sing in my own locality. I never imagined heading straight toward a playback career from there. My mother wanted me to be a singer. But it was beyond my imagination that it would happen so quickly. However, I’m enjoying all the changes.
What was your mother’s dream?
Nancy: My mother adores Runa Laila and wanted me to become a popular singer like her. It’s not possible to reach Runa Laila’s level of stardom, but to become an artiste whom listeners adore is more than enough for me.
Did you take music lessons?
Nancy: I took basic music lessons in Netrokona, where I grew up. Initially, I learned Nazrul Sangeet under Sujan Poddar. Then Ustad Gopal Dutta taught me classical music.
Do you still find time to take music lessons?
Nancy: Of course. I’m still learning from Sujan Poddar.
What preparations do you take before recording a song?
Nancy: I don’t know about the past, but recent recording procedures depend on the singer’s ability to take on new tunes and memorising them. The singer goes to the studio, listens to the tune and delivers it to the microphone. So you could say that the preparation process has gone through a shortcut.
Whose music influences you?
Nancy: I’m not particularly influenced by the music of any singer. I sometimes fancy the tunes or vocal styles of a few. But that’s it.
What would you say to claims that “Nancy is nothing without Habib”?
Nancy: Nancy may very well be out-of-order without Habib. I don’t take such comments negatively.
What is the response to your latest solo album, which came out two months ago?
Nancy: My songs are usually not entirely commercial in nature, and the recent album has also maintained that trend. A massive campaign was carried out to spread the news about the album. I’ve received positive feedback, with many praising the work.
You recently ended your marriage…
Nancy: For a long time we lacked a good understanding. We both took the decision to split up after consulting our families.
Are you staying in Netrokona now?
Nancy: Yes. I come to Dhaka only to record songs. It doesn’t take much long to commute to and from Netrokona.
When will your next album be released?
Nancy: A duet album, featuring Habib and me, is set to hit the market this Eid. The album is titled “Tumi Shondhar Meghmala”. Hopefully this album will also be an audience favourite.

For the first time, Close-up 1 artiste Kishore and popular singer Nancy sang together for a movie. The song is tuned and directed by Kishore. The song is recorded for the movie ‘Nirshartho Bhalobasha’, which is directed by actor and director Ananta.Kishore recorded the song at his own studio in the city’s Mogbazar area recently. The title of the song is, “Ei hridoy kore shudhu tor shadhona, ei mon kore shudhu tor bhabona”. The lyric of the song is written by lyricist Zahid Akbar.
Promising artiste Kishore is now busy working in movie albums and in his own studio ‘Kishore Audio’.
Regarding playback track direction Kishore told this correspondent, “I try my level best to give perfect direction in playback tracks. I think movie playback tracks are very difficult and serious subject. In solo albums, an artiste can go forward as his mind but he can’t do the same in playback track. The story, direction, actors, situations etc demands different elements in a playback track of a movie, so it’s a challenging work for me. Right now I am even working on my solo album too”.
Kishore’s last solo album was released in earlier this year.
