Unidentified miscreants damaged some idols of Hindu god and goddess of two temples at Rajnagar village in Chitalmari upazila early Friday.
Police said the miscreants entered the two temples breaking open the windows and picked up some idols of goddess Kali and god Ganesh in the early hours. Later, the miscreants damaged the idols taking those outside and villagers saw their broken parts lying on street in the morning.
On information, Assistant Superintendent of Police Sadia Afroz (ASP circle) of Bagerhat visited the two affected temples. She assured the villagers that legal actions will be taken against those who damaged the idols.
