Bangladesh Under-19 cricket team returned to winning way as they beat their South African opponents in their fourth youth one-day international match by 8 wickets at Pietermaritzburg on Sunday. South Africa made 170-9 from 50 overs before Tigers chased that down with the loss of just two wickets with 58 balls to spare. Man-of-the-match Nazmul Hossain scored 69 not out and opener Saif Hasan made 54 to chase down the score.
Brandon Glover and Wiaan Mulder picked up one wicket each for the hosts.
Early in the morning, Bangladeshi bowlers
and fielders picked
up the first two Proteas wickets for just three and at one stage they were reduced to 30-4.
Opener Liam Smith scored 59 and Kyle Verreynne made 34 not out but that was not good enough to post a formidable total on the board.
Medium fast bowler Mohammad Saifuddin picked up 4-42, while Rifat Pradhan, Mehedi Hasan and Sanjit Saha grabbed one wicket apiece for the victors.
With the win Bangladesh lead the series by 3-1. Fifth match of the seven-match series is scheduled to take place at the same ground on Tuesday.
