The Postal Department is taking preparations for introducing “Mobile Money Order” service in order to facilitate people receiving money at remote areas within an hour.
\nIn the first phase, the service would start at 150 post offices under a pilot project, reports BSS.
\nDirector-General of Postal Department Mobasher-ur Rahman told the news agency that an agreement with Banglalink would be signed during the\u00a0first week of next month on installing a server for setting up “Virtual Private Network (VPN)” for this service.
\nAt present, seven to ten, even more days were needed for sending money at remote areas through the existing money order service, he said adding, “Courier services are illegally amassing thousands of Taka as commission from the people by transferring money through mobile networks.”
\nThe department had initiated this service for reaching money to the people through Mobile Money Order in shortest time and through a safe mode of transfer, he said.
\nThis service would be introduced at all Post Offices in the country after the success of the pilot project, he said.
\nThe commission for remitting money has been fixed at Tk 20 for transfer of Tk 100 to Tk 1000, Tk 30 for sending Tk up to 2000, Tk 40 for sending Tk 2001 to Tk 3000, Tk 50 from sending Tk 3001 to Tk 4000, Tk 60 for sending Tk 4001 to Tk 5000.
\nA server is being set up at the postal headquarters in the city for mobile money order and all sorts of data would be preserved at this server, which would be very highly secure so that no one can enter the server, he added.<\/p>\n
