\nPrime Minister Sheikh Hasina is expected to inaugurate the fair, organised by Bangladesh Computer Society (BCS) at the\u00a0same venue.
\nThe theme of the expo is set as Way to Digital Bangladesh, which is designed for featuring the government’s declared goal of Digital Bangladesh. BCS president Mostafa Jabbar yesterday said at a press conference at the BCS office.
\nA total of 45 local and foreign companies will showcase their products including computers, laptops, mobiles, televisions, cameras, printers and other digital home appliances, he said. “We are organising the fair to provide a know-how about the latest digital lifestyle products,” said Md Shahid-Ul-Munir, director of the fair. “The latest digital technology makes lifestyle more flexible,” He added.
\nBCS is scheduled to arrange some seminars to educate people on the latest technology on the fair premises. Finance minister AMA Muhith, commerce minister Faruk Khan, and state minister for science and ICT Yeafas Osman are also expected to attend the occasion as special guests.
\nMustafa Jabbar urged the government to give priority to IT education so the country can truly become digital by 2021.
\nThe fair will remain open to visitors from 10am to 8pm. Entry fee for it will be 20 taka only but school students could visit it producing their ID cards without any fee.\u00a0
