Coach Allan Butcher feels Zimbabwe have a good chance to put a brake on Bangladesh\u2019s winning spree in the upcoming five-match one-day series beginning on December 1.
\nBangladesh, who never lost a series to Zimbabwe at home in the last five years, will begin the series as the firm favourites having beaten a full-strength\u00a0New Zealand side 4-0 in their backyard earlier in October.
\nZimbabwe lost a series to South Africa 3-0 during the same period but took some positives from the form of some of their top-order batsmen. The side, familiar with Bangladesh\u2019s conditions and players, are ready to reverse their fate this time, said their English coach Butcher.
\n\u2018We are approaching this tour with some positives as we have got some good reviews for our performances in South Africa, though we didn\u2019t win any matches,\u2019 Butcher said in at the official press briefing on Sunday.
\n\u2018I am not going to promise that we will win the series as Bangladesh will be pretty confident as well. When we went to South Africa we felt that we didn\u2019t had much chance to win the series, but we feel a bit differently here,\u2019 said Butcher.
\nButcher said the series will provide them a chance to show the world that they are now ready to return to Test cricket.
\n\u2018We have already been granted a Test match, I think it\u2019s against you guys in June. I can perceive people will take notice should we win the series against Bangladesh that just demolished New Zealand,\u2019 said Butcher
\nSkipper Elton Chigumbura hoped his batsmen would learn quickly to play on the slow and low wicket in Bangladesh
