The Bangladesh Tourism Board at a news briefing on Monday said they would be official partner of Bollywood heart throb Shahrukh Khan live show scheduled to be held at Dhaka Army Stadium next month.
\nThe press conference was jointly organised at the Sheraton Hotel by BTB and event management company Antar Showbiz which is arranging the\u00a0show.
\nBTB chairman Shafiq Alam Mehedi and Antar Showbiz chairman spoke at the programme.
\nShafiq Alam said BTB would try to utilise \u2018Shahrukh Khan Night\u2019 to promote \u2018Beautiful Bangladesh\u2019 theme and Sundarban and Cox\u2019s Baazar beach.
\nShahrukh Khan will be also requested to campaign for the inclusion of the world\u2019s largest mangrove Sunderban in the Seven Wonders of the World list.
\n\u2018We will propose Shahrukh Khan for becoming goodwill ambassador for Bangladesh to promote the biggest mangrove forest of the world, Sundarban, and the longest sea beach, Cox\u2019s Bazzar,\u2019 said Shahfiq Alam.
\nThe event is expected to be held on November 10 and this will be first ever visit of Shahrukh Khan to Bangladesh.
\nAnother Bollywood heart-throb Rani Mukherjee is also expected to take part in the six-hour show with others including Hindi film stars like Arjun Rampal, Isha Koppikar, Shefali Zariwala, Ganesh Hedge and Neeraj Shridkar and Bangladeshi film star Shakib Khan, dance artiste Prantar and others.
\nShahrukh Khan and Rani Mukerjee are considered a great duo and their movies together as the lead pair had hit box offices including \u2018Kuch Kuch Hota Hai\u2019, and \u2018Khabhi Alvida Na Kehna\u2019 and \u2018Chalte Chalte\u2019 simply rocked the screen.
\nShapan Chowdhury said that a quarter of journalists had raised question about budget of the concert and they also reported that Antar Showbiz was evading tax payments of the participants and Value Added Tax.
\n\u2018Everything is going on in line with laws of the country and we will provide 15 per cent VAT for the programme,\u2019 Shapan said.
\n\u2018Participants will also pay 25 per cent tax from their participation money,\u2019 he added.
\nShapan said total budget of the programme will be about Tk 1.5 crore.
\n\u2018I will not disclose how much money Shahrukh is taking as there is some legal complications,\u2019 Shapan said.
\nPrivate television channel \u2018Boishakhi\u2019 will telecast the programme live.
\nMentionable, earlier in 1997, Antar Showbiz organised an event named \u2018HOT SUMMER NIGHT\u2019 at Dhaka Stadium [now Bangabandhu National Stadium], which ultimately did not take place.<\/p>\n
