The wait for the much-desired World Cup match tickets is over for Chitta-gong’s cricket lovers.
\nTicket distribution for the Bangladesh-England match on March 11 will start today and continue till tomorrow at the A K Khan premises adjacent to Alif Hotel at Alankar near the Zohur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium.
\nCricket fans who collected their confirmation letters from banks can collect their tickets from\u00a0the eight ticket counters set to give away around twelve thousand tickets.
\nAround eleven to twelve thousand tickets will be distributed to the masses who will enjoy Bangladesh’s must-win tie against England.
\nBangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) Director Sirajuddin Mohhamad Alamgir, also Chairman of the local venue, told The Daily Star that there are sufficient men working on the distribution of tickets.
\nHe urged the fans not to hurry during ticket collection.
\n\u201cMy only suggestions to the cricket fans… ‘please, do not hurry’. If necessary our activists will distribute the tickets entire day and night.\u201d
\nAlamgir also said that any undisciplined events can embarrass them as ICC officials, journalists and overseas cricket fans are currently staying in the city.
\nHoping no unwanted situation takes place in the port city during the World Cup matches, he said, \u201cBCB and local staff are working very hard to ensure that every ticket is given away to the right people.”
\nThe second of Chitta-gong’s two World Cup games, the tie between Bangladesh and the Netherlands, will take place at the same venue on March 14.<\/p>\n
