<\/a>Singer Alif Alauddin, Ali Pushpita Mouri and Marzia Faruk Nawrin are cousins. Hailing from a well-known music oriented family, the three cousins literary grew up with music. On 22 July, the three cousins made a joint appearance on ETV\u2019s late night music show Phone O Live. According to the singer Alif, they wish to bring out an album together. To-day we bring our readers in conversation with the three cousins.
\n\u201cI grew up in a music oriented family. My maternal uncles Sumon and Emon who were members of music band Chime used to practise at my grandfather\u2019s house. I used to listen to their rendered songs during practice sessions. I picked up the number Nati khati bela gelo from their practice and started to sing it. One day my mother noticed me singing the song; she and Emon uncle took initiatives to record the song. I went to the Elvis Recording Studio to record the song. At the studio, we met Hanif Sanket who is a friend of my father. He gave me a chance to sing the song at his TV show Kathar Katha. As I performed the song on TV, everyone took notice of me. It had certainly been a good performance and people used to call me Nati khati,\u201d said Nawrin.
\n\u201cI started to learn classical music from the age of seven. My first mentor was Anil Kumar Saha. After that there was no looking back for me. I started to take part in different programmes in country and abroad and also started to release albums as a child artiste,\u201d she added.
\n\u201cAs a child artiste, I released five solo albums and eight mixed albums,\u201d said Nawrin.
\n\u201cI went to the US in 2005 for higher studies. In the same year my album Epaarey Shurjo Opashey Ostachal was released. The album contained 14 songs. The music in the album has been done by Fuad Al Muktadir, Ayub Bachchu and Prince Mahmud. My uncle Swakat Ali Emon did the music composition for the album. The album was released under the banner of Soundtek. However, the album was not marketed properly,\u201d she added.
\nOn the Valentines Day the third solo album Kolponatey singer was released. Currently, singer Alif is working on the music videos of the album. \u201cSo far, I have released two music videos featuring two songs from the album. The songs are Janalaye and Jodi Tumi. Before Eid I am optimistic about releasing another music video featuring a song from the album Dating,\u201d said Alif
\n\u201cCurrently, I am doing live shows and stage shows. After Eid I hope to work on a number of mixed albums,\u201d informed Alif
\nSpeaking about Nawrin, Alif said, \u201cMy cousin Nawrin has been doing shows since 1988. As a girl, I was a bit shy and I used to attend dance classes regularly but in the end as my family is more music oriented I switched to music completely. Nawrin\u2019s mother Chitra Sultana had a music school. I attended a few workshops which helped me become panic-free on stage. Later, when I came to perform on television it was mush easier for me to make a place for myself,\u201d said Alif.
\nAli Pushpita Mouri is the daughter of Rehana Sultana. \u201cMy mother Rehana Sultana is an instrumental artiste. She plays hawaiian guitar. My first music teacher is my mother. Currently, I am learning music under Zakaria Masud,\u201d said Puspita.
\n\u201cMy father Professor Matlub Ali, who is currently the Dean of Faculty of Fine Arts, Dhaka University, is also my teacher,\u201d she added.
\n\u201cMy first album Chhoto Chhoto Asha was released in 2008. The music composition in the album was done by Swakat Ali Emon. I received Citycell Channel i Music Award in the category of debut artiste for the album,\u201d she informed.
\n\u201cIn 2009 my second album was released from Fahim Music. It was an album on Hamd Na\u2019at. My third album was released in 2010, which was tuned by my father. He also wrote all the songs in the album,\u201d Puspita concluded.<\/p>\n
