Catching up with Jyotika Jyoti<\/strong>
\n<\/a>Lux Anandadhara Photogenic 2004 Jyotika Jyoti has become a familiar face thanks to TV plays, commercials and feature films. Currently she is busy shooting for a feature film and several TV plays.
\nThe Daily Star (TDS) recently got her take on her recent work. Excerpts from the interview:
\nTDS: Tell us about the TV plays that you have just finished.
\nJyoti: I did about 15 plays last Eid. Among the notable ones are Salauddin Lavlu’s \u201cOchol\u201d and \u201cKotha Dilam Toh\u201d, Sohel Arman’s \u201cFour Cactus\u201d, GM Saikat’s \u201cMeyetike\u201d, Gazi Faruk’s \u201cGozai Doctor\u201d, Abdullah Rana’s \u201cShey Achhe Shey Nei\u201d, and Hossain Muhammad Bela’s \u201cThe Sound of Silence\u201d. I had to stay in Sylhet for Abdullah Rana’s play.
\nTDS: How busy are you with drama serials now?
\nJyoti: I’m working on several TV serials now. \u201cHath-er Rekha Kotha Bole\u201d, \u201cNithua Pathare\u201d, \u201cRonger Shongshar\u201d, \u201cPutul Nach-er Itikotha\u201d and \u201cOhonkar\u201d are being aired on several TV channels now.
\nOn the other hand, I’m working on Habib Masud’s \u201cMotijheel C\/A\u201d, Shahriar Nazim Joy’s \u201cGhuri Urey\u201d, Kaisar Ahmed’s \u201cMohon Banshi\u201d, Sayeed Tareq’s \u201cShopnobilash\u201d, Mizanur Rahman Labu’s \u201cHaat\u201d and Al Hazen’s \u201cShamikaran\u201d.
\nTDS: Tell us about the feature film in which you star.
\nJyoti: It’s an adaptation of Tarashankar Bandopadhyay’s \u201cBedeni\u201d. Director Abul Kalam Azad has cast me in the title character. I’ve also worked in Belal Ahmed’s \u201cNandito Narake\u201d, Kobori’s \u201cAaina\u201d and Tanvir Mokammel’s \u201cRabeya\u201d.
\nTDS: When did you step into the media?
\nJyoti: In 2004, with Lux Anandadhara Photogenic contest.
\nTDS: What are your memorable TV plays?
\nJyoti: I can remember Animesh Aich’s \u201cEkti Jhorakranto Shefali Gachh\u201d, Dipankar Dipan’s \u201cShopnojaal\u201d, Naresh Bhuiyan’s \u201cMrittushokhigon\u201d, Bikram Khan’s \u201cShironamhin\u201d, Syed Awlad’s \u201cChaturbhuj\u201d, Fazlur Rahman’s \u201cShopnochura\u201d, Saidul Anam Tutul’s \u201cAlok Nagar\u201d, Ferdous Hasan’s \u201cDahan\u201d, Syed Shakil’s \u201cRangila Bao\u201d, Tonmoy Tanshen’s \u201cDanguli\u201d and Akram Khan’s \u201cNabila Chorit\u201d. These plays gave me recognition.
\nTDS: What is your aspiration as an actor?
\nJyoti: I want to work in remarkable plays and films so that the audience will remember me.<\/p>\n
