<\/a>The National Theatre Hall of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy turned into a place of major attraction on the sixth day of the ongoing Syed Shamsul Haque theatre festival as famous and distinguished thespians acted out segments from Haque\u2019s plays on Thursday.
\nTitled as Natyakar Sannidhye, the event drew a lot of theatre lovers
\nwho got the rare opportunity to see several prominent theatre figures perform on one stage.
\nVeteran actors like Ali Zaker, Asaduzzaman Noor, Sara Zaker, Ataur Rahman performed scenes from Haque\u2019s classic Nuroldiner Sarajibon. Even after a gap of almost 19 years, Ali Zaker and Asaduzzaman Noor in the characters of Nuroldin and Abbas respectively managed to enthrall and captivate the audience and receive loud applauses from all.
\nFollowing that rapture, the audience got to see Bipasha Hayat and Afsana Mimi acting the parts of two melancholic sisters of Haque\u2019s Khatta Tamasha. The poverty-stricken sisters\u2019 plea for food brought a gloomy ambience to the hall.
\nFerdousi Majumdar and Tropa Majumdar\u2019s acting of the same character, the daughter of Matbor (influential person) from Haque\u2019s another famous play Payer Awaj Pawa Jay was also very enjoyable.
\nKhairul Alam Sabuj and Santa Islam\u2019s readings from Juddha ebong Juddha, Nima Rahman\u2019s reading from Mukhosh and Tarik Anam Khan\u2019s reading from Ekhon, Ekhane also got huge appreciation from the audience.
\nBeside these power-packed performances, Hasan Arif and Ishrat Nishat recited poetry from Haque\u2019s immensely popular collection of poems-Poraner Gohin Bhitore.
\nThe show, presented and conducted by Mamunur Rashid, turned memorable with Syed Shamsul Haque\u2019s reciting of his poems.
\nJoynal Abedin, a young theatre activist, expressed his delight to New Age, \u2018Thanks to Prangonemor, I have been able to see so many theatre luminaries together.\u2019
\nAnother overjoyed audience remarked, \u2018I am awestruck. I will remember this evening for a very long time.\u2019
\nEarlier on the day, a seminar was arranged at the conference room of BSA where Mafidul Haque presented a paper on Syed Shamsul Haque\u2019s plays. The paper discussed extensively and intensively three of Haque\u2019s famous plays: Payer Awaj Pawa Jay, Nuroldiner Sarajibon and Ekhane, Ekhon.<\/p>\n
