Four members of the Dhaka Stock Exchange were
\nelected as new directors of the bourse on Monday.
\nTwo hundred members, out of the total 240,
\ncast their vote in the elections.The elected directors are Sharif Anowar Hossain of Sahidullah Securities with 146 votes, Azizul Hoque of B & B Enterprise 144 votes, Shahed Abdul Khaleque of Shahed Securities 102 votes and Khugesta Nur-E-Naharin of Modern Securities 129 votes.
\nThe four will replace four other elected directors, DSE president Rakibur Rahman, Ahmed Iqbal Hasan, Khwaja Ghulam Rasul and Sharif Ataur Rahman, who will complete their tenure till the annual general meeting on June 15. The bourse has eight other elected directors.
\nGenerally, an elected director of the stock exchange holds post for three years. But, the tenure of the newly elected directors will be five months as the board of the bourse will be abolished after the demutualisation of the bourse in November this year.
\nThe next president, senior-vice president and vice-president will be elected at the AGM.<\/p>\n
