The Bangabandhu International Gold Cup Football Tournament will be held in October or November. The names of the participating teams and the fixture yet to be finalised.
\nThe tournament will be held at the Bangabandhu National Stadium.
\nThe budget of the competition has been estimated at Tk ten crore.
\nTwo teams from Bangladesh and six foreign teams will take part in the tournament.
\nIndia, Myanmar, Iraq, Iran, Malaysia, United Arab Emirates, South Korea, Thailand, Qatar, Vietnam, Uzbekistan already showed their interest to participate in the upcoming gala football meet.
\nPrime Minister Sheikh Hasina is the Chief Patron of the tournament while Salman F Rahman is the Chairman of the Organising Committee.
\nBangladesh Football Federation (BFF) and Beximco Limited will jointly work to stage the football competition.
\nThe high officials of BFF and the officials of Beximco Limited met on last Saturday and discussed about the development of the tournament. They hope the competition will be a much-talk football tournament in Asia.<\/p>\n
