The Dhaka Premier League for the next season will begin on October 10 as the Bangladesh Cricket Board on Tuesday announced the domestic calendar for 2014\u201315.
\nThe Cricket Committee of Dhaka Metropolis sat with standing committees at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium before making the official\u00a0announcement at a press conference.
\n\u2018We talked about organising the Dhaka Premier League, the First Division, the Second Division and the Third Division League,\u2019 AZM Nasir, chairman of the cricket committee, told reporters at the press conference.
\n\u2018Player transfer for the Dhaka Premier League will be held in August 4\u20135 while the league will be held in October 10\u2013November 25,\u2019 Nasir, the Chittagong-based chairman of the cricket committee, said.
\nThey further decided that there would be no Dhaka Premier League for the current 2013\u201314 season.
\n\u2018There is no word called season. We completed the league in September and we will do it in the same manner this year,\u2019 Nasir said. \u2018I do not know whether that was of a 2012\u201313 season. We completed the league in the past year and hope to do it this year too,\u2019 he said.
\nThe BCB\u2019s chief executive officer Nizamuddin Chowdhury said that the player\u2019s transfer would be held in keeping with what is in practice. He ruled out the chance of retaining controversial players by way of the system introduced in the past year.
\n\u2018Players by choice transfer will not be there as we have decided to get back to the old format,\u2019 Nizamuddin said.
\nThe player\u2019s transfer of the First Division will be held in September 1\u20132 and the league will begin on October 12.
\nThe third edition of the Bangladesh Premier League Twenty20 tournament will be held in December 1\u2013January 5, according to the new calendar.
\nThe cricket board decided to launch a Twenty20 tournament for First Division cricketers to increase their skills in this format.
\nThe Second and the Third Division will begin simultaneously on December 17 and the player\u2019s transfer will be held in November 17\u201318.<\/p>\n
