Jamuna-Bamba Eid Concert<\/em>
\n24 bands rock the capital<\/strong>
\n<\/a>Celebration of Eid days may often seem uneventful in Dhaka due to lack of entertainment facilities, outside spending time with friends and family. The major recreation that is on the table for Dhaka dwellers is simply to go to different cafes and restaurants to hang out, to theme parks or movie theatres. Most people are left with no other choice but to make do with this or to get glued to televisions or laptops.\u00a0People, particularly the youth segment, yearn to be entertained during Eid holidays.
\nThis time around, however, a three-day rock concert organised jointly by Jamuna Group and Bangladesh Musical Bands\u2019 Association (BAMBA), which was presented by telecom operator Robi at Jamuna Future Park duly became a hub of interest and entertainment for the city-dwellers, especially for those who love to rock to drum-beats. Beginning on the third day of Eid, the concert saw performances by 24 BAMBA member bands, among which were some big names of the country\u2019s rock music.
\nEight bands performed on the opening day, among them were immensely popular Nagar Baul, Dalchhut, Shironamhin, Feedback, Obscure, Cryptic Fate, Dark and Nagorik. Teeming number of audience experienced quite a few enthralling moments on the first day. To mention a few, popular rocker James and his Nagar Baul band put a mesmerising effect with numbers like Sultana Bibiyana, Baba, Ishwar Achhe and others.
\nMost of the bands, in fact, presented their popular numbers as audience always love to listen to hit tracks in such concerts. Majhi and Bristi by Obscure, Mousumi and Hridoye Hridoye by Feedback, Baji by Dalchhut and Ichchhe Ghuri by Shironamhin were electrifying numbers that got the audience thoroughly entertained.
\nOn the second day of the concert, the venue was similarly crowded and the eight bands of the day turned it into a special evening for the audience. Rock band Radioactive took to the stage first, followed by Metal Maze, Power Surge, Arbovirus, Prometheus, Aurthohin, Souls and Miles.
\nIn the deafening ambience, audience was all up with demands echoing for their favourite numbers from the bands and they were not disappointed. Pathsala by Prometheus, Phiriye Dao by Miles, Kalo Megh by Radioactive, E Kamon Porichoy by Souls and some others were the most craved after numbers of the day.
\nThe closing day of the concert witnessed superb performances by some big bands. Among them were LRB, Maqsood O\u2019 Dhaka, Warfaze and Renaissance. Others on the day\u2019s list were Beduin, Nemesis, Dreek and Mechanix. Audience enjoyed and acclaimed the first appearance and performance of Ayub Bachchu\u2019s son Ahnaf, on the day.
\nExplaining why Jamuna Group and BAMBA collaborated to organise such a grand concert, Supon Roy, head of programme of Jamuna TV, said, \u2018Firstly, it is to entertain people during Eid holidays. And then we intended to promote BAMBA and Jamuna TV\u2019.
\nWhatever are the reasons and intentions behind the concert, audience surely thanked the organisers for making their Eid really special and eventful in the capital.<\/p>\n
