Grand Master Ziaur Rahman signed a deal with Bangladesh Navy chess team after GM duo Abdullah Al Rakib and Enamul Hossain Rajib, confirmed a Navy official on Tuesday.
\nWith the inclusion of Ziaur Rahman, Bangladesh Navy is going to offer a huge challenge to Mohammedan Sporting Club who use to form the best chess team in the premier league.Bangladesh Navy was introduced with country\u2019s chess in 2013 by participating in the Bangladesh Games.
\nNavy, who became runners-up in the 2013 Bangladesh Games and Premier League, crowned champions of the last edition of the premier league.
\nMushfiqur Rahman Mohan, chief adviser of the Navy chess team expressed his content on the deal and hailed the move of Navy which he believes will strengthen country\u2019s chess.
\n\u2018Initially Zia will play for Navy as contractual basis and I think It was a great initiatives that will inspire to patronise the game in future,\u2019 said Mohan, who is also a member of Bangladesh Chess Federation.
\n\u2018We have already recruited 16 chess players through permanent and contractual basis.\u2019<\/p>\n
