The Bangladesh Cricket Board\u2019s bowling action review committee chief Jalal Yunus on Tuesday said that the committee discussed their policy issues and will start their work from July 20.
\nThe BCB last week formed the four-member committee who are tasked with overseeing the procedure related to suspect bowling action in domestic cricket and the remedial system.The other members of the committee are former national cricketers Omar Khaled Rumi, Golam Faruk Suru and Dipu Roy Chowdhury.
\n\u2018A total number of 11 players were suspected 18 times in this year\u2019s Premier League. We will work with 10 of them. Their resurrection work will start of July 20,\u2019 Jalal said after its first meeting on Tuesday.
\n\u2018We will make reviews on July 20, 21, 25 and 26. We will make groups consisting three bowlers. After the review we will understand who have legal and who have illegal actions. Later on we will work with the bowlers with problematic action.
\n\u2018Some BCB coaches will work on correcting the problems. We have spin and pace specialists in the committee, who will monitor the process.
\nJalal also said that they will not tolerate any sort of illegal action and will take punitive measure if needed.
\n\u2018We do not want to see an illegal bowler continues for long, we will not give that chance to any cricketer.
\n\u2018If the bowlers, who will work with us, remodel their action properly, we will give them opportunity. They will get chance to play for 120 days. If they are reported once again in that time they must return to us. We will take decision on them, or even make some provision of punishment\u2026.\u2019
\nThe reported bowlers include Arafat Sunny, already banned by ICC in international cricket. Sunny, who is already in a remedial process, played four matches in the league but local umpires found still some technical flaws in his action.
\nThey other reported bowlers include spinner Sanjit Saha and pacer Saifuddin, who played in the ICC under-19 World Cup earlier this year.
\nSpinners Mustafizur Rahman and Mainul Islam of Gazi Cricketers, off-spinner Amit Kumar of Abahani, left-arm spinner Rezaul Karim of Prime Doleshwar, off-spinner Mohammad Sharifullah of Kalabagan Krira Chakra, off-spinner Asif Ahmed of Legends of Rupganj, left-arm spinners Naeem Islam jnr and Faisal Hossain of Mohammedan Sporting Club completed this list.
\nThe committee, which will work under the ICC guideline, is willing to setup a mini laboratory and they may hire specialists from abroad if they can solve the primary issues properly.
\n\u2018We have to follow the ICC code. We have to purchase some instruments for that. We need some cameras. There are some solutions which are called 2D solution. We will manage the camera by 20th July,\u2019 said Jalal.
\n\u2018If we find we have a huge workload as we have to update ourselves. We will take 3D from 2D. We may even hire experience personnel if required. We discussed with Chennai, also with Cardiff.
\n\u2018We are thinking about setting a mini-lab. It will be in the second phase. If we can work out the first stage problems, we will continue in that way.\u2019<\/p>\n
