The Criminal Investigation Department on Monday submitted to a Dhaka court the charge sheet against film actress Pori Moni in a narcotics case.
\nPori Moni and two others – Ashraful Islam Dipu and Kabir Hossain – were named in the charge sheet.
\nInvestigation Officer Kazi Golam Mostafa, also an inspector of the Criminal Investigation Department of police, submitted the charge sheet before the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate’s Court of Dhaka, court sources said.
\nAccording to the case statement, members of Rapid Action Battalion on August 4 detained Pori Moni and Dipu and seized alcohol and narcotics from her home.
\nThe following day, the two were shown on paper arrested in the case filed with Banani Police Station under the Narcotics Control Act. Later, Kabir too was shown on paper arrested in the same case.
\nShe was placed on remand in police custody for seven days in three phases.
\nOn August 31, Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge Court judge KM Imrul Kayes granted bail to Pori Moni on Tk 20,000 bail bond till the submission of the police report in the narcotics case.
