\nAsif, now on bail, pleaded not guilty and demanded justice after Judge Mohammad Ash Sams Joglul Hossain of Dhaka Cyber Tribunal read out the charges to him.
\nEarlier in the day, the tribunal dismissed a petition submitted by Asif asking to be relieved from the charges of the case.
\nThe tribunal then set June 23 for starting trial of the case.
\nOn 4 June, 2018, lyricist and singer Shafiq Tuhin filed the case against Asif with Tejgaon police station.
\nOn 20 November, 2019, the investigation officer in the case filed two separate chargesheets against the singer under the ICT act and Penal Code.
\nAccording to the case complaint, the plaintiff through an investigative program named, “Search Light,” broadcasted in a private TV channel on 1 June, 2018 found out that Asif sold 617 songs of different lyricists, musician and singers without their permission.
\nLater the plaintiff got information from different sources that Asif digitalized those songs through his production company ARB Entertainment and earned a huge amount of money.
\nShafiq Tuhin posted a status about the matter on his personal Facebook account where Asif commented indecently.
\nLater Asif came live on Facebook and said he will resist Shafiq anywhere he finds him.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
