Education Minister Dipu Moni on Thursday said that in person classes in all educational institutions from secondary to tertiary levels across Bangladesh will resume from February 22.
\n\u2018But the students who already took second dose of covid vaccines can attend in person classes,\u2019 she said at a press conference held at the conference room of education ministry at the secretariat.
\nThe students who didn\u2019t get first or second doses would attend online classes only, she continued.
\nShe also said that after observing the situation for maximum two weeks from February 22 decision on resumption of in person classes of the primary level would be taken.
\nThe universities can also resume in person classes from February 22, she added.
\nOn January 21, the government announced the closure of schools, colleges and equivalent educational institutions across the country until February 6 to contain Covid-19.
\nOn February 2, the government extended the closure of educational institutions by two more weeks.
\nAt least 3.7 crore children\u2019s education was disrupted by the closure of the schools in Bangladesh during the Covid pandemic, UNICEF said on January 24, putting emphasis on opening the schools.
\nEarlier, the government kept all educational institutions shut for more than one and a half years from March 18, 2020 to September 11, 2021 due to the Covid-19 situation.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
