The Office of Career Guidance, Placement and Alumni Relations of Independent University, Bangladesh organised a Corporate Grooming Session on the campus in Dhaka on Thursday, said a press release.
\nThe programme was organised in close collaboration with the five academic schools of IUB.
\nThe first session was jointly conducted by Sayeed Nasir, executive vice-president and head of Department, Organisational Development and Employee Relations, bKash Limited and Tasnim Zaman, assistant manager, Digital Employee Engagement\u00a0and Branding, bKash Limited.
\nStudents were given demonstration on how to write winning CVs and cover letters and how to excel in interviews.
\nIn the second session, Lamiya Bushra, unit head \u2013 Group HR, Mutual Trust Bank Ltd and an IUB business graduate, shared real life examples and anecdotes from her career that spanned over 15 years in a range of different HR roles in\u00a0multinational companies and corporate commercial banks.
\nWhile addressing the students, Professor Niaz Ahmed Khan, pro-vice-chancellor of IUB, explained the importance of determination and honesty for a successful career.
\nProfessor Taiabur Rahman, dean of IUB\u2019s School of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences, stressed on relationship and networking alongside knowledge and skills.
\nSharmeen Islam, assistant director of CGP&AR, conducted the programme and delivered the vote of thanks to the guests and participants.
\nThe content of the programme, which was divided into two sessions, was specifically tailored to equip outgoing undergraduate students with tools that would help them realise their potentials and overcome the challenges fresh graduates\u00a0often face at the start of their careers.
