The two-day BUP Film Fest-2022 was concluded and awards were given out on Wednesday in the university’s Bijoy Auditorium by the department of mass communication and journalism of Bangladesh University of Professionals.
In the event, 277 competitors from 40 prestigious public and private institutions competed in the short film, cosplay, script writing, poster design, and cine quiz competition categories.Read more
BUP vice-chancellor Major General Md Mahbub-ul Alam was chief guest of the prize giving ceremony while actor Abul Hayat was present as special guest.
Actress and filmmakers of the movie ‘Hawa’ attended the opening ceremony held on Tuesday. Film director Giasuddin Selim was judge at the film festival.
The VC said that film is not only a medium of entertainment but also a tool to educate people, grow morality and humanity, reform society, stimulate patriotism and acts as a tool for the prosperity of the country. He said that films works as a mirror of daily and social life.
The chief guest stated that a good, and thoughtful movie can broaden the window of mind, can inspire to think critically about the society and surroundings.
