A policeman was killed in a road accident at Kakrail crossing in Dhaka on Monday night.
The deceased was identified as Md Shahidul Islam, 46, a constable of Gazipur Highway Police. He was from Iswarganj upazila in Mymensingh.
Ramna police subinspector Subir Kumar Karmakar said that the accident took place as a covered van hit Shahid’s motorcycle in Kakrail crossing area on Monday night, leaving him seriously injured.
Later he was taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where doctors declared him dead at about 1:15am. The body was sent to DMCH morgue for post-mortem examinations.
