Zimbabwe coach Alan Butcher said they must overcome the psychological problem of facing left-arm spinner Abdur Razzak if they are to bounce back from the 2-1 deficit in the five-match series.
Razzak claimed 13 wickets in three games including his man-of-the-match performances in two matches in a row, helping Bangladesh to put their shock nine-run defeat in the first match behind them and regain their control in the series.
His performance in the series made him the first bowler to take 50 or more wickets against a single opponent. He has now got 54 wickets from 24 matches against Zimbabwe.
‘I think this is much a technical problem,’ said Butcher.
‘He is bowling exceptionally well and you must give him credit. It’s disappointing that we are continuing to give him three wickets in two overs which make life difficult for us. Whether it’s psychological or we are not playing him particularly well… we will have to work on in the next couple of days.
‘I don’t think there is a big difference between the two teams. Razzak is winning matches for them as a bowler. Our bowling attack is operating pretty effectively, but we are not having any match wining performance like this,’ he lamented.
