Ten members of a Hindu family, including three women, were injured in Sylhet city Sunday morning when neighbours attacked them over a trifle matter.
Police and local sources said rickshaw garage owner Nurul Islam of Hawladarpara at Akhalia in the city picked an altercation with his neighbour Birendra as he resisted Nurul from keeping several rickshaws in front of his shop at around 9:00am.
At one point of altercation, Nurul along with his relatives attacked Berindraw’s shop and then at his house near the shop, leaving the ten injured, the sources said.
Of the injured, Birendra, his brother Pankaj and brother-in-law Rabindra were admitted to the
Sylhet Osmani Medical College after the incident while the rests of the injured were given first
aids from the hospital, sources in the on-duty doctors said.
Being contacted, Jalalabad police station officer-in-charge Jamal Uddin confirmed New Age of the incident.
He said they visited
the spot after the incident, but no written allegation was filed with the police in this regard still the
evening.
