The Chittagong Shah Amanat Airport customs’ officials seized 138 gold bars, weighing around 17kg, from a toilet of a Bangladesh Biman flight coming from Dubai on Wednesday.
The Chittagong customs’ assistant commissioner, Parvej Al Jaman, said the gold was found in a drive on the flight BG-046 of Bangladesh Biman after it landed at the airport at about 10:00am from Dubai.
A total of 138 gold bars weighing 17 around kg was found abandoned inside the toilet of the aircraft, he said, adding that the market value of the gold would be around Tk 8 crore.
No one was arrested in this connection, the official said.
The Shah Amanat Airport has become one of the prime choices of the gold trafficker and at least ten hauls of gold had been caught here in the last three months.
