The 1st convocation of ASA University Bangladesh was held at Bangabandhu International Conference Center in the capital Monday morning.
A total of 19 hundred graduates received certificates in the programme, said a press release.
For the best result Jhumka Rani Mandal of BBAand Md Mohammad Mahmud Kabir of MBA received the Chancellor’s gold medals.
Nurul Islam Nahid, education minister, chancellor of ASA University Bangladesh, presided over the convocation.
Professor Emeritus Anisuzzaman, department of Bangla, University of Dhaka, presented the convocation speech while vice-chancellor of ASAUB Professor Dalem Ch Barman delivered the welcome speech on the occasion.
Md Shafiqual Haque Choudhury, chairman of the Board of Trustees, ASAUB, spoke on the establishment of the university.
Professor Anisuzzaman emphasised building character and urged the degree recipients to match their character with the awarded degrees.
Shafiqual Haque Choudhury said ASAUB’s tuition fees were relatively low. Tuition fee waiver was given to meritorious, poor, women, indigenous students and the wards of freedom fighter.
