A boy and a housewife were killed in separate traffic accidents on New Eskaton Road and Mirpur in the capital on Sunday. The police and hospital sources said Mehdi Hasan, 14, an employee of Baby Motors at Eskaton Road, was killed when a bus from Gulistan ran over him at about 3:00pm.
After the incident, he was taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where the doctors declared him dead at about 4:00pm.
Mehdi, son of Mahbubur Rahman, a CNG-run auto-rickshaw driver, was from Bhadrason of Shibchar under Madaripur.
In another accident, a housewife, identified as Rawshan Jahan Sathi, 25, was killed when a bus knocked her down at Diabari Balurmath of Mirpur at 12:00 noon, hospital sources said.
