‘The Super Mario Bros. Movie’ to jump past $1billion mark in global box office earnings

The Super Mario Bros. Movie has become an unlikely cash-cow for Universal picture. The animated feature is expected to cross $1billion in earnings at the global box office.

Even though the film by Nintendo, Universal pictures and Illumination Entertainment isn’t projected to reach the target until the weekend, Universal has enough faith in the projections to declare victory.

Since its release less than a month ago The Super Mario Bros. Movie has smashed targets and remains the top release on US charts, according to Variety.

The Secondary School Certificate and equivalent exams will begin today.

According to the education ministry, 20,72,163 candidates are likely to take this year’s SSC and equivalent exams.

The exams will be held on all subjects with full marks but on revised syllabuses.

They will be held in 3,810 centres across the country for students from 29,798 schools, madrasas, and technical institutions, and some 374 students abroad.

A young man from Queensland is fighting for his life after accidentally ingesting rat poison in Taiwan.

A sick Australian student will be flown home from Taiwan for specialist medical care after apparently ingesting what is believed to be rat poison.

Alex Shorey, 24, was on university exchange in the island’s capital Taipei when he fell seriously ill several weeks ago.

It is believed he may have inadvertently ingested food contaminated with superwarfarin, according to an online fundraiser set up by his aunt Elizabeth Shorey-Kitson.
