Sylhet district police administration on Sunday launched a three-day book fair on the police lines ground, on the occasion of International Mother Language Day.
The Sylhet Shahjalal University of Science and Technology vice-chancellor, Saleh Uddin, inaugurated the book fair as the chief guest.
The organisers also brought out a procession in the city and later held a discussion at the police lines.
Sylhet Police deputy inspector general Mosharraf Hossain Bhuiyan, police superintendent Ruhul Amin, additional district magistrate Shahidul Alam and Metropolitan Police deputy commissioner Rezaul Karim, among others, addressed the discussion, said the organisers.
