A singer died and two others were injured in road accident, a domestic help allegedly committed suicide while a man was found dead in the capital from Thursday night to Friday.
At Badda, a singer died and two others were injured when a
truck hit a motorcycle and an auto rickshaw.The deceased, Khuku Moni Maria, 20, was from Palang at Shariatpur while the injured are Runa Akhter Karina, 24, auto-rickshaw driver Oli Haolader and motorcycle rider Sirajul Islam, 32.
The accident took place when an auto-rickshaw, standing on the roadside, turned turtle after a speedy truck had hit a motorcycle which subsequently hit the auto on the Madhya Dadda Link Road at 12:30am on Friday, leaving two passengers of the auto-rickshaw and the motorcycle driver critically injured.
They were rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where on-duty doctors declared Khuku dead at about 1:30am.
On information, Baddha police subinspector Golam Mostafa recovered the body and sent it to the DMC morgue for autopsy.
Khuku and Runa were on way to their house at Hasnabad at South Keraniganj after attending a programme on Satarpur at Badda, Golam said.
An unnatural death case was filed.
At Mohammadpur, a domestic help allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself from a ceiling fan with a scarf at her employer’s house.
The deceased, Laboni Akhter, 12, daughter of Ismail Hossain, was from Dakkhin Ghatka at Thakurgaon sadar.
Police recovered the body from inside a locked room of house 242, road 6 of Mohammadi Housing Ltd at about 9:00pm on Thursday and sent it to the morgue, said Mohammadpur police subinspector Fayzur Rahman.
Police would investigate the incident following the post-mortem report.
An unidentified man, aged about 25 years, was found dead at Kawla Beribadh in the airport area.
On information, airport police subinspector Mostafizur Rahman recovered the body at about 7:30am on Thursday and sent it to the morgue for autopsy.
