Three people were killed and three others injured when a boiler at a rice mill exploded at Pulhat in Dinajpur early Friday.
The deceased Saddam Hossain, of Mahatullapur, and Suman, of Karimullapur of the district headquarters died on the post. The injured Motaleb, 38, died after being admitted to Rangpur Medical College Hospital.
Liakat, Palas and Sagar were injured and admitted to Dinajpur Medical College Hospital immediately after the accident, but they were later shifted to Rangpur Medical College Hospital as their condition appeared to be critical, officials said.
All the victims were workers of Gafur Auto Rice Mill at Pulhat Industrial Area near Dinajpur town.
Katawali police said that the accident occurred due to workers’ ignorance of steam control of the boiler of the rice mill.
Saddam and Suman died on the spot and the four others received serious injuries as the exploded boiler fell on them. The accident occurred at about 7am.
