Detective Branch of Dhaka Metropolitan Police on Wednesday arrested three Nigerian citizens from Khilkhet and Kalabagan on charge of manufacturing fake dollars.
The arrested were Adlaju Samul, Okoxe Cmeko Emmoruel and Okafor Chike.
A team of DB, led by senior assistant superintendent of police Obaidul Haque, conducted a drive Tuesday at Dhaka Regency hotel and arrested Adlaju Samul, said Nazmul Alam, deputy commissioner, DB (north) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police at a press briefing on Wednesday.
Adlaju earlier received Tk 1,00,000 from Mostofa Kamal with a commitment to deliver US dollar 5,000 to him at the hotel on Tuesday, Nazmul added.
According to the information revealed by Adlaju, the detectives arrested Okoxe Cmeko Emmoruel and Okafor Chike from a house at Kalabagan, Nazmul said.
The DB personnel also recovered huge materials used for making fake dollars including 300 bundles of black-coloured papers of the size of dollars and different types of dyes.
