Three suspected robbers were killed in an attack by a mob during a robbery incident in Kapasia upazila early Wednesday. One of the deceased was identified as Masum, resident of Haridebpur village in Kaliganj upazila. The police and residents said a gang of robbers, numbering 10/12, broke into the house of one Niranjan at Palashpur village in the upazila at about 4:00am. As the house inmates called for help, people of the area came to their rescue and managed to catch a member of the gang after a hot chase. They beat him up severely, leaving him critically injured. On information the police rescued the robber, who died while being taken to Kapasia Upazila Health Complex. Later they also captured two more members of the gang. The people of the area beat them up and kept them in confinement where they died in the morning, said Monir Hossain, sub-inspector of Kapasia police station.
