Three promising singers presented popular Nazrul songs on Friday at Chhayanaut as part of the organisation’s regular
monthly musical programme.
The singers of the evening were Manosh Kumar,
Nasrin Jahan and Abhijit Kunda.
The show began with Abhijit’s solo. In his melodious voice, Abhijit presented two sentimental Nazrul songs: Mor prothomn moner mukul and Se choley gechhe boley ki go.
An inspirational Nazrul song Natun korey naojowan was presented by Nasrin Jahan. She also rendered a shyama genre based Nazrul song, Shyama tabo jatona, and a sentimental song titled Asiya kachhe gele chole.
Manosh Kumar rendered popular romantic Nazrul song Amar aponer cheye apon je jon. He also presented some other popular songs of the national poet including Ashiley ei bhanga ghorey and Swapaney esho priyojon.
A remarkable number of audience enjoyed the programme. Latif Uddin, a private service holder, said, ‘I try to attend programmes featuring Nazrul Sangeet and enjoyed the performances of the aspiring artistes.’
