Thousands of passengers got stuck on Dhaka-Tangail highway Friday as a 30-km long tailback was created on the highway due to heavy traffic and potholed roads. It took 4 to 5 hours to cross 20 km road from Hatubhanga of Tangail district to Shafipur of Gazipur district due to the long tailback, causing untold sufferings to the passengers. A large number of vehicles got stuck at three sides of Chandra Trimor frdue to plying of a large number of cattle-carrying vehicles on the highway ahead of Eid-ul-Azha. However, the gridlock started to ease around 10 am.
